I must congratulate those at Sheffield United for stepping down from their positions over the return to training of this guy to their club.

He was convicted of a terrible crime and will forever have to live with that. I am all for punishment and serving time etc. but in his case he has been let out so early and is of an age to resurrect a playing career where he could earn thousands of pounds every week.

Is that fair? What sort of message does that send out to other young men?

He was a £3m player 4 years ago. He was probably on upwards of £10k a week and is looking to play again. His victim has to live with watching him rake it in every week and set himself up for a comfortable life in the future.

He has done the crime but he hasn't done the time. I hope that fans will stay away from any team he plays for so that he becomes a poison. There really is no place for him in the game. So perhaps this is where his sentence should really begin by not getting back into the game.

It seems whilst Ched was in prison serving his short sentence made even shorter by the do gooders no one bothered to educate the man on how serious a crime he has committed.
He obviously doesn't see any harm in raping women in the first place but maybe no one has told him that this violence against women isn't something you can do a few months for then forget about it.
Did no one tell him he will be on the sex offenders list forever now? did no one tell him that he will be a risk to all women once allowed out on the streets? it seems that not only he but others ie the powers that be nor these football clubs can see the harm.
The man hasn't even shown an ounce of humility.
He was convicted of this crime wasn't he? crazy

In theory, all of the above comments are correct. However, it's not his fault that he was let out early. Regarding his career and the general disgust that he is allowed to earn bucket loads of cash again.......what is the alternative? what do you think should happen to him in a professional capacity from now? According to the law, he was committed a crime and served his sentence. A judge cannot say that he must not play football again and only earn minimum wage for the rest of his life.

Mike Tyson was allowed to continue his career and earn many millions - he has now a completely reformed person and does a huge amount for charity.
Nelson Mandela was a convicted terrorist - he was given a second chance and made a huge contribution to society.
Danny Trejo - convicted armed robber..now earns big money from films & tv
Malcom X - convicted serial burglar but went on to be one of the most important people in black history

Maybe, people deserve a second chance?

(ps - I wouldn't give Evans a second chance....I'm not that sort of person....but I'm just putting out some points worthy of discussion to get a balanced argument..)

One of my mates has a thing about this case he has studied it, I have not. But he has bent my ear a few times. The evidence is very flimsily and he has explained several times the player still maintains he is innocent. But I do agree he was convicted and it's hard to say unless you sat every day in that courtroom. But I suggest you read up on the evidence if you have not done so it might change your mind. It's too complicated to explain here but my mate us very convincing he is innocent. As for letting him off early that's our crazy justice system not his fault you can kill someone these days and be out in so year or two.

That's true and there is nothing stopping him playing again but equally nothing stopping the fan of than club protesting and not putting money into the club as well.

Just read the court case suggest you do the conviction it seems to me was the judge ruled she was too drunk at the time to consent to sexual activity with Evans despite agreeing to with his friend who was acquitted and the judge did not understand the jury's verdict but had to respect it. This looks to be a classic case of consent in the minefield of drunken people and courts trying to perceive the state of mind of people months later. Read the evidence and you decide

All good points there. For me it's about where you draw the line on what you can do when you come out. If he was a shop worker we wouldn't even be talking about whether he could go back to working in a shop. If you restrict footballers from playing football when they come out you have to do the same with everyone and then we'll have lots of people unable to work.

What he did was fukking appalling and for me any rapist or child molesters should be strung up or have certain parts removed. It's fukking disgusting crime. His sentence being cut short is all about the do gooders and no doubt human rights people.

That's why I ended my post with, he has been convicted of this crime hasn't he?
We can only go by what the law says.
If he has raped then the sentence is laughable, If he is innocent then again its a poor system.
either way someone should be guiding him in front of the media as he isn't coming across very well.
