FSG need to back BR in the January window because we'll need world class players to boost our chances for top 4 again. I think we'll make it through the group and so there's that incentive for players outside CL. Surely we can get 2 or 3 in and help the boys out

We just spent 120 million, we have FFP breathing down our necks, we wasted our 'world class player' money on mediocre buys in the summer. Not happening.

In addition, I'd rather cut off my left nut than give any more money to whoever is running transfers for us at the moment. They clearly haven't got even half a fu!king clue what they're doing.

what do we hear every january?

You're probably right Flames. BR have a knack for spewing nonsense even when things are upside down. I'm not sure if it's just arrogance or he likes to be in denial.

Hopefully we are within 6 points of top 4 come the window, any more than that and I feel we wont be able to catch up. A decent striker could make all the difference. Good news is most of our rivals are crap as well

They have better first 11's however.

It might looks like we need a 'top class mid and striker' but adding more players is not going to solve the problem any faster than coaching is. We currently have 5/6 CMs all of whom have shown in the recent past they are up to the task of a place in our first team. We don't need more players, we need to trust that BR can improve them they way he has done with Henderson, Sterling, Flanagan etc.

Balotelli is a weird one, I'd like to think BR can do something with him, but we all know when Sturridge come back, and if he stays fit, then he won't be starting much anyway. Next season Origi comes back and that's our 1st & 2nd choice strikers sorted without any further outlay.
