Is this the total nonsense thread or what?
When we sign someone that can move the ball around even half as good as gerrard then we can look to drop him. Had one of his best seasons last season, and if BR and whoever else is messing up the transfers hadn't off left us with a dead weight up front in mario then it would be business as usual ..its not stevie's fault that BR can't defend set pieces or that BR plays a useless toxic lump up top

Sad day when Stevie retires blah blah blah.... I couldn't really care less. I support Liverpool not Steven Gerrard FC - It's not like he's in his bleedin' prime and thinking about chucking it in - he's old and lost his legs, hasn't had a decent shot on him for god knows how many seasons now - you lot have got rocks in your heads!  I'm not saying we send him off to the glue factory, but there's no way he should be the first name on the bloody sheet.. we'll only shoot ourselves in the foot if we continue to be all bloody centimental.

Rodgers seems to me to bottle big decisions he needs to be braver Any manager who turns on Gerrard is done for. We all remember Carragher and Gerrard phoning in performances for Rafa in his last season, we all remember them crying to the owners to get Hodgson sacked, we all remember Gerrard telling Kenny to sit the [oops] down and slating him and belittling him at any opportunity, we all remember Gerrard arse kissing Rodgers, which will all change when he doesn't get a contract extension or gets dropped. Gerrard thinks everyone owes him something and thinks he's bigger than the club. What the hell are you talking about, pure delusion IMO.

Duncan whats being said by Spice Boys, the WUM is ridiculous, both disprectful and embarrassing and the type of posts that ruin any sort of discussions on these forums.
Nobody is disputing Gerrard is slowing down but he is still better than our other midfield options at present.

Gerrard a legend of course, but he is slow, has no impact on games, his legendary status should not make him undropable.
In my view gave having Gerrard playing as almost a 3rd central defender distracts our defence, we constantly have Gerrard back passing to them and putting them under pressure.
The whole defensive midfielder position is a liability to our team, unless that defensive midfielder is prepared to move forwards when we are attacking, and has the energy to get around the pitch.
GERRARD does neither resulting in our defenders being scared to run past him, madness.
When did Gerrard last give a MOM performance for us?

I don't get this. Gerrard is no Mascherano. He is basically playing like Alonso used to for us, sitting back and spreading the play and he is probably playing it just as well as Alonso did for us 6 or 7 years ago. His passing his just as good, he has been creating a lot more than Alonso used to, he scores more goals than Alonso did and Alonso was never quick around the pitch. The problem is he doesn't have Mascherano playing next to him.
The problem is the tactics not Gerrard. Play Can as a proper defensive midfielder alongside him and let Henderson bomb forward and close high up the pitch in effectively the same roll Gerrard used to play.

Agree except that Can still needs to prove himself in the DM role, but we need one to play alongside SG.
