Zola was lightweight off top my head, as tackling is ruled out now, for the reason- to protect the smaller, lighter players, like Messi...... So, he should be fine. Can he endure the season demands of pace of the League and our winters and Xmas programme?

He is a good young player, give the dude some time, not his fault the fluidity of the team is not yet there.

I like Phil and most certainly believe he should be given his chance, but as far as fluidity is concerned, he should be contributing to it, not wait for it to come from nowhere.

sensational when he came on. i have been one of his biggest critics as i feel for a player of his ability he should be one of the best no.10s in the league. hope he kickstarts his season now and gets us a few goals over these 6 games in the next 20 days

He did well, but.....let's put it into perspective. He came on fresh and fully fit for 20 minutes against the worst team in the league who were tiring badly. It's not hard to impress in those conditions.

Yeah, but he put us into the lead at the death, and when they equalized AGAIN, he created the winning goal. Doing all that at the end of the game when the pressure is on is very difficult.

Fair enough...a pat on the back for him, but that doesn't make up for the last 12 months of screamingly dire performances from him.

Where do you get this 12 months from? The equaliser at Fulham last season and a winner at home v Man City and then again yesterday. Thats 3 crucial goals in what must be about 12 league games for him. The guy is capable of genius. Please get off his back.

Allen came on about the same time and contributed. Even missed the goal line clearance that made it 2-2 so your point is not really valid.

From the last year. The fact that you can pick out his good bits just shows how few there have been. I agree that he is 'capable' of genius (most players are), but we need to see it a LOT more often. It's consistency that we need, not an occasional .8 out of 10'.
