Even if Sturridge was not injured again, goals are always going to be hard to come by for this team. Daniel is very talented but we don't actually have an inform FIT natural goal scorer in the squad. Lambert looks to be the odd man out, Mario looks to have no confidence, sterling isnt a prolific instinctive goal scorer, our midfield doesn't exactly bombard the opposition's goal with thunderbolts.
Maybe team Mario and Lambert up front and hope something amazing happens?

How the hell has it come to this?

Playing Lambert and Mario upfront would be a mistake imo. Rather Mario and Borini...
