Why are you saying British football fan is subsidising others, I don't understand that. It's about demand and disposable income. I pay about 600 GBP a year to get all EPL and cup games + other programs as I indicated in an earlier post, all this because I can afford it. If I couldn't, I would have taken another package for about 200 GBP but would have got fewer games (mainly the top 5 club games) and if I couldn't afford that too, I would have watched 1 game per week on public tv and listen on the radio.

In fact, if I was not paying that, UK fans would have had to pay more than now or rather, players would be paid less. For clubs, overseas transmission is additional revenues, that's all.

You are not subsidising anybody but paying a price which you feel is value for money. If you don't want to pay, nobody is forcing you, there are others to take you place, if if there is none, the price will be adjusted, this is what a market is all about.

England is the most expensive provider in the world vish the numbers prove it and not just a bit by some way. Your argument is people in England have more disposable income than anywhere else in the world. You clearly know nothing about England.

You don't read posts as usual, it's not only didposable income but what the buyers consider value for money which is dependant on disposable income and substitutes. I know more about England that you know on Mauritius and probably on most part of the world bar US and maybe Scandinavia. So in short, I don't give a hell about your opinions and you are the one finding it hard to live in a globalised world in England, not me. I say tough luck to you.

Because you talk crap. How can you say that overseas tv transmission is subsidised by local/uk fans, you don't understands economics and for a chartered accountant this is unbelievable. For you information, the marginal costs of sales of a tv right is very low compared to the revenue it brings, therefore there is no need for any subsidy as it has a positive contribution for the FA. If ever you have travelled and you have such thoughts, it's even worse.

I talk crap ok thank you for that

It's called sales mix the operators make a mark up depending on what the market will bear in that country some countries can bear a high mark up some not. The operators derive the optimum sales mix and margins to derive the optimum gross margin. The mark up by country is based on demand in that country clearly the country of origin of the sport where the teams are located is in almost all cases where the maximum margin is to be derived in this case England. Which is why the press articles show English customers have to suffer the highest prices by quite some way anything up to ten times what other countries pay. So yes we are subsidising as without the margin from the uk you my friend would be paying more. A lot lot more a little thank you would be nice although I don't think that's you is it ?

Indeed it's sales mix with varying margins as it is in all global businesses, but, if this is what you call subsidising, I am afraid you are ignorant of what business is all about. Anyway, I am not discussing with you anymore, if you think you are subsidising anybody, nobody is forcing you to do so, so cut all your crap. Your life must be a nightmare and I pity you, seriously.

Vish if they did not make the higher margin in the English market they would have to make the profit up elsewhere that's obvious. You are in a favourable position and get a deal we could not dream of in England so be grateful for that .

But a word of warning

I remember about three years ago on this site complaining about Match ticket prices many uk fans who don't go to the games (carheex was one) made fun of me because they were ok or they thought they were. I bet they are not making fun now soon the armchair viewing will be more expensive than a season ticket. But it won't end there once the English fans have been extinguished the premiershio monster will turn it's gaze to you and overseas fans. That day will come a lot sooner than you think
