Phil needs time space to do well,Suarez drew a lot of players away from Phil to allow him that luxury. Coutinho needs to play on the wing where it's going yo be a bit harder to man mark him. I don't think he needs space. He looked brilliant when we signed him and looked like he knew where everyone on the pitch was. He hasn't lost that but is doing a different job to when he started with us. Our whole system has fallen apart, we have balo lallana et al who don't create space and make runs in the same way as last year as they haven't learnt the system yet and they possibly aren't those kind of players. Coutinho thrived on the intuitive connection everyone had last year. Though he was still a 1 good game in 3 kind of player.

its easy to have a go at mario or lallana which is way off the mark as lallana has improved every game , but coutinhio has been nothing more than rubbish this season showed no form at all , looks lost in games .

He is playing this so called number 10 role now. He was far better sparking attacks from deeper. Look at those unbelievable intuitive passes v Arsenal to Sturridge straight into his path and again to Sturridge at Fulham when Sturridge scored a hat trick.
That is what he does best. The 40 yard assist not the 40 yard run and pass. He is not one of these to run at opponents taking them on. His best games come when he gets on the ball on the break and releases others forward at lightening speed.
The way we are playing at the moment with one up front coming deep is no good for him and when he was dropped nobody else offered anything different did they? I really cannot understand all this negativity towards him.
He has a good footballing brain and is a technically gifted player.

Yes he has improved but he still has not contributed as an attacking midfielder and by now we should have had something from him given the opposition we have played. This is a player who is unrecognisable from the player who was at Southampton last season. While the team has been playing poorly nobody seems to say anything about Lallana and Markovic but let's all bash Coutinho the minute he gets back into the side.

He has a good footballing brain and is a technically gifted player. Spot on. I also just want to add, I don't think lallana or markovic have been poor, just lacking games at the moment. I think both these players suit the system, they just need some games, they have gotten better with ech match. Let's not forget Markovic was also injured in preseason and the very beggining of the season. For them the past few games have been pre season basically. Give them a few more matches. I agree with you on Phil though.

You are clutching at straws if you are claiming an assist for Lallana for that goal as at least two players touched it after Lallana and before Suso. As I said he'll get one soon.
