Well do we want a team that depends on one or two star players?? Or do we want a team that plays as one unit and is not dependable on a player or two??
Well I think BR is trying to create the 2nd option which is the best long term approach. Very true but all the great Liverpool teams had at least two stars Maybe those stars will be bought next summer. Build the squad for now and get them settled and then target the 2 star players?

Well I think BR is trying to create the 2nd option which is the best long term approach. Very true but all the great Liverpool teams had at least two stars Maybe those stars will be bought next summer. Build the squad for now and get them settled and then target the 2 star players? Right, and building the squad is the hardest part, especially when you want them to play in a certain way.

Certainly a possibility but personally I think, if that is the plan, the strategy would be a little backwards. As two star players would help us ensure champions league football again for next year than the larger squad that we did purchase. And next year if we don't get champions league we might not be able to buy 2 star players

Right, and building the squad is the hardest part, especially when you want them to play in a certain way. Agree, building the squad is the hardest part but BR has had 5 windows already and I think most people would be more or less happy if we finish in the top 4, ie, possibly 2 positions lower than last season. We have lost only one player and if BR has been busy building the squad, we should be able to be at least 4th even with Suarez gone and all the money + more re-invested, no?

Well I think BR is trying to create the 2nd option which is the best long term approach. Except he isn't is he? Last season relied heavily on Suarez who carried the team and kept Rodgers in a job. Looking at our team now we are hardly playing as one unit, we're in 14th place and the team is falling apart just because Suarez left a massive hole in our side. Comments on various forums seem to be waiting for Sturridge to come back and take us to glory. How are we one unit and not a 1 team player. Rodgers has done nothing in 5 transfer windows.

What squad? Rodgers hasn't filled any of our weak positions, instead he bought in the same areas he always buys in - attacking players who can play across the frontline. 5 transfer windows and still no DM, we still have Gerrard plaguing the side, no doubt when G.Johnson comes back, he will go straight in to the first 11 no questions asked as well, not to mention the masses of players who might be good in 5 years time, there's been no plan in his approach at all. Rodgers has created more problems than we actually had in his time here.
