Ryan Babel, a 22 year old Striker/Winger who was bought 2 year ago for 11.5m. we all thought that he will be the solution to our problems, which he was in a number of matches. but the problem is that he's not improving and there has been a lot said about his future.

Why isn't he becoming what we all thought he would?

I think his main problem is his mentality. he needs to learn as much as he can from Kuyt, Gerrard and Torres. these guys really fight for every opportunity. he needs to have a calm head, make the right decisions, and only think about the team.

If Babel plays well, and he gets so many shots on target, then we will score a lot from rebounds if Kuyt and Torres get to the ball as soon as possible. Babel is known for his right foot which we could benefit a lot from.

He is lazy. Plain and simple. He has had a life where everyone has told him how good he is and it has all come so easily to him. He never had to try before he came to Liverpool and he expects that he shouldn't need to try here. The big difference is that this league is harder than the Dutch league. Look at Kuyt. He was a leading goal scorer in the Dutch league and coming to Liverpool meant that he had to change his game and adapt to the best way for him to get results. He is now a worker and provider instead of a goal scorer.

Joel, to add to you comments.

He cant even control a simple pass. he is not liverpool material. Some of the boys in the reverse and under 18 are better than him.

no doubt babels got the potential but he's just lackluster. It proved Rafa is starting to lose patience with him, because against Arsenal, he took Babel from left wing and put him left back to allow agger to go up hahaha

We are Liverpool and this is Anfield. Welcome to Hell.

Lazy, with a big head.....thinks he's better than what he is. Admitedly the guy has talent but lacks heart and dedication to the cause. Will end up being a big fish in a little pond being a great player in a crap league somewhere.

That sort of competition would probably suit him although it wouldn't feed his ego!!

I wouldn't be surprised to still see Babel at Anfield next season... I don't feel Rafa has had enough of him just yet. Maybe another season to see if he can show his worth, pull his socks up and start playing for the team and not himself.

Don't get me wrong, I think he has ability and when he he first came across I was very impressed but he seems to have dropped the bundle. He doesn't seem willing enough to work on his deficiencies. If Rafa does give hima chance he will have to work his ar$e off because I'm sure Rafa won't stand for his laziness and big ego for too much longer!
