Reports on Football365 say Real are targeting Sterling and discussions on his new contract with Liverpool are not yet concluded. He's said to be on 30k per week at present. What do you folks think, will we sell him for big bucks to Real or Barca anytime soon? Personally I think if the offers right we will, that's moneyball.

I don't think we could get enough money for him at present for FSG to sanction a sale given how marketable he's becoming and how important he is to the team. He would have to have a storming season for Real to pay a galctico price for him. Contract wise, our management team are probably trying to pay him less than our top stars due to his age, but he (perhaps rightly) takes the position that he's the best player we have at the moment and should be paid accordingly. I'm quietly confident he will sign a new deal, and even more quietly I'm pretty sure Real won't be ready to pay the kind of money that would force us to sell him (as long as he doesn't take the league by storm this season). But that isn't based on any facts, just opinion.

We would start to look even more like a feeder club if we sell.
That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

In addition 50m might stiffen Henry's back against our wrath. And then don't forget they're in this for the moneyball after all.

We would start to look even more like a feeder club if we sell. But isn't that the moneyball concept? Use statistical analysis to find undiscovered bargains, develop them and then sell on at a profit. Have they departed from that concept?

Maybe our expectations are too wild, free and unmanageable Stan.

Maybe our expectations are too wild, free and unmanageable Stan. I think so we are dumb numpties who want our team to do well and win trophies how thick and out of date is that ? we know nothing of demand curves or John Henry's budgeting system so how can we understand things ? John Henry has only so much money he is not made of money you know and we should be grateful for what he has provided. My next Liverpool shirt will have "cost of capital" across the back with the letter 0.
