I went to the game last night (can't remember whether I mentioned it before ) but for the first time had a close up look at llanna and marcovic. Llanna seemed ok he was in the game and trying albeit he does look a bit limited e.g I don't think we have the next Suarez here. But marcovic looked lost other than one little run he seemed out of the game entirely to me. Early days of course but I was expecting more given the write ups and what we paid pre season I was expecting far more of an impact. Hope it's just a bad day of the office and we don't gave yet another flop on our hands

Transfer scatter gun Stan and it is early days mate but one must be concerned.

The other concern is why is Rodgers not playing him ? Yes he may be bedding him in but for the money we paid that should not be necessary I would have thought. Or more likely in training he does not impress. Let's not overreact but it is slightly concerning

Based on his career up acquisition Marko was a gamble and I don't think suited to the PL but he is young, very quick, fits the system we played last year, and has a lot of time to prove himself. Some players do take a while to get used the PL.

Lallana on the other hand will always be okay, maybe a trick will win us a game some time but we will never dominate a midfield and will never consistently win us games in my opinion (again based on his career up to acquisition). He had his most amazing season ever last year and is 25/26 I think. He's never gonna repeat that season in my opinion, every season will be worse than that, if nothing else cause Liverpool will never play around him like Southampton did quite often (where he was a big fish in a small pond) as we already had and have better players than him (much better). Thus whilst Lallana already looks okay, and will be okay, its an incredibly average signing that isn't of the required top 4 quality. And his start at Liverpool is proving all of this right (I said it over the summer), though he has a lot of time to prove me wrong I grant you. Marko on the other hand has the potential to really be something and has a chance to be better than he has been before. Buying both of them was really stupid, and we dramatically over paid for both of them. Similarly neither were the best we could have got for that money as we probably could have got both even without champions league football. I'm just depressing myself at how poor our transfer business was ONCE AGAIN under Rodgers. So much money wasted.

Once again good post big red Kop very poor value from our plus £100m spend it appears not to have taken us forward and no better than last year we seem to be buying and then moving them on within a year and buying again to repeat the process

The only new signing I have seen worth hope is Cann. The rest have been underwhelming to say the least. It doesn't help Phil started the season as badly as he finished the last and didn't have to me 'mystic meg' to predict the injury to Sturridge.

Didn't BR say that there were a lot of top clubs who were after Markovic and he chose us because of BR's style of play? By the way, I did a poll the next day the transfer window closed and the majority here said that we had a very good transfer window, going to try to dig that up. Hindsight is a great thing to have

Markovic will come good. He's got loads of pace, a quality touch, and good skill. He just needs time.
