When you say day trippers, do you mean non locals who are also season ticket holders or is it people who would come once a while?

Is there a ringleader in the kop. I know some clubs here in Ireland have one or a group of lads who are season ticket holders (maybe fanatics) who whip up the crowd everytime theres a lull in atmosphere.
Most clubs in europe have this too

I just wanted to know what you meant by day trippers, if you say Thomas Cook, it's more like the one time tourists and more than 25% of them seems a lot, but you would know more.

So it seems that its not a single reason behind this quiet Anfield. A combination of poor results over the past few years, expensive tickets and older, richer and less vocal fans has done the damage.

Safe standing might be an idea

What's this safe standing all about. I know I'm not knowledgeable at all in this, but when I went to the Everton-LFC game last year, despite the seats everybody stood the whole game.
