^ this. It's easy to announce plans but getting it done is a different story. How many times did we see new plans and designs for liverpool over the last 15 years.

People have been asking questions, but this figure of a cost of 200mil is news to me. It sounds incredibly cheap and like it will fall apart halfway thru the season. A proper stadium would cost almost double that, I'm sure.

If i am mistaken though, then the redevelopment makes no sense. If i am not mistaken however, then its the only option which makes sense.

P.S. i quite like what the planned redevelopment looks like.

I would have said the same box, but that was before we left the door wide open for them. My guess is they've spotted the first real opportunity to get ahead of us since the days of Dixie Dean, and I fear they may well be motivated enough to gird their lions and grasp it. Given the way we are now I'd mind my house if I we're you.

So you believe Everton are preparing their expansion and business model based on a rivalry with us and what we do. Sounds like something good businessmen do. Invest 200mil because your rivals are not. That's a good enough reason. Makes no sense, but nevertheless.

In the worst case liverpool will have a 58k stadium and everton will have a 50k stadium. No way they will ever go above that and no way they will ever have the reach liverpool have. If money is king (as many on here have stated) then there's no way everton will ever be better than Liverpool (long term)

That's what businessmen and women do Ninja they see an opportunity and they exploit it. And isn't that what your beloved John Henry did when H & G messed up?
Can you imagine what trumping Liverpool would do for the Toffee's morale and fan base? We mustn't confuse other people's ambition with our own. Just because our owners are prepared to limit us to a 58k stadium doesn't mean others including Everton will.
We've presented them with an opportunity and judging by the noises they're making they're thinking of trying to take it, and who knows they might just succeed, and there's some avenues open to them.

Well I'm old enough to recall Leeds Fans having similar illusions...how times can change though.

I don't know whether you are taking the mickey or not, but either way, i don't feel its worthy of a response from me. Either you are kidding, or your view and understanding of business is so vastly different to mine that there really is no point.

It's called competition vish, known as the life blood of trade and commerce, one doesn't have to be very clever to aware of that, and football is as competitive as any other business, or had you missed that?
