So a couple of weeks ago in our first game of the season the Soton fans sang 'is this a library' reffering to the dead silent Anfield. At that time I thought to myself this is the first game of the season and the fans have just witnessed one of the most exciliterating seasons from Liverpool so maybe its temporary. Then came Villa and they also sang something like ' is this your famous kop' or something similar. They were noisy all game and the liverpool fans offered zero resistence which I find baffling. Two days ago the Ludogorets fans were noisy all night and for a second I thought liverpool were playing in Bulgeria. The fans were dead until mario scored and then came to life for 5 minutes. The home support should be rallying our players up and not the other way around. Before the goal we were attacking them and getting more and more dangerous so I find it strange that the fans were silent.
Next week its the derby, the fans better show up, their noise is very important to boost the morale of the players and also give an excellent atmosphere for both tv and attendance crowds, if they don't hopefully Rodgers or Stevie say something to get them louder and sort themselves out.
Back to Back World Champions baby!

Get the admission prices back to a more reasonable level, and the REAL fans will return, me included. Until then, they can stick their exorbitant prices completely and right up where the sun no longer shines.
Haven't toffs got voices btw, or is that too much effort in between nibbling prawn sandwiches and quaffing champers?

When you got the great atmosphere in the past they were mainly young men who had a few pints before, These days the middle class professional turns up in their Lexus 30 minutes before kick off and buys a coffee and sits there in polite silence as if watching a play at the theatre. Still that's progress

I agree safe standing should come in and for all those who cite hillsborough they stand anyway at anfield on the Kop and anfield road on the seats which apart from being unsafe is unfair to fellow spectators it's about time we addressed this,
I was at hillsborough and would never go back to unsafe stadiums but that's nit what is being touted just limited standing areas nit whole stands

Still that's progress Unfortunately for me I cannot go to games so won't know much why Anfield is more silent now or if it is significantly silent, however, I feel that fans have lost confidence too in their players/team after continuous below par results over the last years. I am very nervous now when I watch games and 2 seasons back was almost uninterested in terms of expectations. I don't know if that could be one reasons as when you don't believe enough and worried and therefore not pumped up, you shout less. After we scored in the week, we were better, no? I would think that with success things would change, but I don't know. Faz, as I think you are the fan going to games more than anybody else here, is Anfield much more silent now and if yes do you have an explanation?
