London is actually the worlds 5th richest city, or has the 5th highest GDP with, New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Seoul all with a higher GDP.

Furthermore, not only can you not compare New York and London, you cant compare London to Tokyo either. New York has a GDP of 1.2 billion, Tokyo 1.5 Billion whereas London has a GDP of around 700 million. Half of Tokyo's.

Thank you for that the fact is it's a heck of a lot richer than Liverpool and has nothing like the infrastructure issues and transport London has.

Vish I posted two weeks ago Liverpool could even be second best in our own city two weeks later there is a strong possibility of that. I feel your perspective is a stadium is of no interest as you will never go there but you would prefer the money spent of the team which you watch on TV. Unfortunately it's not that simple. I also think we have more chance of attracting future owners with a proper set up who would want to take on Liverpool unraveling the mess FSG has made ?

So, is it that cost of material and labour twice higher in London compared to Liverpool?

No but I would imagine the surrounding infrastructure is. The eithad is a superb stadium nothing bare bones about that but it cost £110m even allowing for inflation how come Liverpool's would cost 5 or 6 times as much are they gold plated stands ? We are being conned by FSG once again

£110m plus £45m total to turn it into a football stadium us whatever they spent for the complex. And why would it cost more to drive a digger around London than Liverpool? I've lived darn sarf all my life but not noticed that things are cheaper up t'north generally.

Roads trains much more complex planning in the capital than Liverpool if Manchester city can build a stadium for £150m and Everton £200m why does it cost us at least twice it three times that ? That's what I don't understand I would have thought also new build is in many ways far cheaper I know someone who worked on boltons ground (a fine stadium too) and they throw them up in no time often in kit form so refurb is not linear to new build

We'll know when Everton inaugurates their 200m stadium, until then, the most recent we have is the Emirates which is also a few years old. You live near Liverpool but you are not the only one among posters who don't think that materials and labour are twice more expensive in London. Otherwise it's all speculation and reasons to moan about FSG again.

Let's base our cost on Wembley. That was £750m!

To be fair that's much much bigger than the 55k seats the blue noses or the 60k seats SP are wet dreaming of.
