You mean they're expanding? To 58k? Why don't they just build a shiny new 95k stadium for a few quid more?

Stan,
An observation on the stadium. It seems to me one of your big issues with Anfield even if we were able to enlarge capacity to 71k down the road is that the experience is just not modern and up to the likes of City and Arsenal.
Thing is, if we again manage to regain a footing for a number of years at the higher echelons we would attract the new blood much needed rather than the over 50's you sight often. Well, I know looking back (and I am not on old guy now) that it simply wouldn't be my main concern.
Attractive football and a successful team- the old hallmarks of Liverpool in days gone are the most important thing along with being part of the tribe as a youngster. The fact the view or seat might not be the best in the league are pretty much immaterial. I know personally I could care less. Coming away where we have put yet another team to the sword and winning trophies is what it's all about surely?
It is for me.
I grew up on football like that and I agree. But that went years ago the game has changed you can't (or won't be able to in future) charge people probably somewhere around £100 to not see or sit uncomfortable seats crammed together. My eyes were opened a couple of weeks ago at city people coming to the game hours before kick off and there was reason to do so. Just simply reaching a number of 70k won't do we need more. You strike me as a person who regularly goes to anfield and you will know having someone's knees in your back is normal the club are short of space and so have got as many people in a small space as possible. Pretty sure FSG,s plans are to take that to another level.

Are you more interested in the matchgoing fans experience over the welfare of the club?

You don't know much about me but you are deluded if you think the fans are the most important thing about the club. Success on the pitch is what matters most.
Are you willing to sacrifice success on the pitch by restricting investment in the team to improve the match going experience?

Shows how remote from the game you are I don't believe you have ever experienced a football match you may have popped over on a day trip but football is about miles more than winning vish as important as that is. The highs the lows the emotions the stadiums the friends the banter the travel and you would condense it to winning and losing ? Let me tell you there are many fans spend a lifetime following teams and they never win a thing. I don't want to insult you but I truly feel sorry for you in your analogy I remember losing at villa park FA cup semi final yes after the game I was destroyed to I remember it and always will likewise Athens 2007

I know lots of people in every sport who delude themselves into thinking that they are the most important thing about the game. I consider it a load of b0llox myself and find them quite sad.
Do you not still think you'll have the same highs, lows, emotions, friends, banter and travel if we redeveloped Anfield? Will all that suddenly disappear?
