Sorry to inform you that you are making up facts again. We do have the capability of expanding to 70k. You even said yourself the echo were reporting it too.

Other than Chelsea we are the only club doing it but we don't have a rich owner. And stop speaking as if our ground will be 71k it won't it will be 58k the only evidence otherwise is an anonymous person posting on the internet who is a qualified engineer apparently he can walk on water as well I understand
not in the last 20 years though...

Actually the way things REALLY ARE is completely different. Out of 20 premier league clubs, ONLY arsenal have built a new stadium and united expanded. City are leasing. So out of 20 PL clubs only one has built a new stadium. The other 19 have not. That's the truth.

Not quite true. Stoke used to play at Victoria Ground now it is Britannia Stadium. Sunderland was Roker Park now it is Stadium of Light. Swansea was Vetch Field and now it is Liberty Stadium. Hull was Boothferry Road and now KC Stadium. Southampton was The Dell now it is St.Mary's.

These are all totally new grounds.

I must admit, i was not aware of that. I apologise and take it back.

Just a question though, how many built new stadiums in the past 20 years?

And I forgot Leicester City who were at Filbert Street and moved to The Walkers Stadium now called King Power Stadium.

All of these in the last 20 years or just over.

I know this because I have been to about 62 league grounds but some I will have to do again to say that statement is true.

Nobody built a new ground for absolutely years. Now apart from those already mentioned you can add Oxford Reading Derby Huddersfield Wigan Bolton Middlesbrough Scunthorpe Rotherham Walsall Brighton Cardiff Millwall Coventry Doncaster Chesterfield .

It's very cheap to build a new stadium if your a football league sized club and only need capacity of 20k (when I say cheap I mean £100 or less) but that will still be less than what our rebuild will cost.

Stan,

An observation on the stadium. It seems to me one of your big issues with Anfield even if we were able to enlarge capacity to 71k down the road is that the experience is just not modern and up to the likes of City and Arsenal.

Thing is, if we again manage to regain a footing for a number of years at the higher echelons we would attract the new blood much needed rather than the over 50's you sight often. Well, I know looking back (and I am not on old guy now) that it simply wouldn't be my main concern.

Attractive football and a successful team- the old hallmarks of Liverpool in days gone are the most important thing along with being part of the tribe as a youngster. The fact the view or seat might not be the best in the league are pretty much immaterial. I know personally I could care less. Coming away where we have put yet another team to the sword and winning trophies is what it's all about surely?

It is for me.

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
