Its been a whirlwind 18 month for the young striker/midfielder. From some saying get rid to others saying his top draw. From not being on the bench this time last year to being the only bright spark for England at the world cup. At only 19 and at less 10 great years ahead of him what do you think the future holds for Sterling at Liverpool (if he stays that long?)

we seem as a club to either unearth a gem or make a top player into a world class player the unfortunate thing is we have always had a mediocore team around that truely 1 world class talent ie fowler, owen, gerrard, torres, suarez and now by the looks of it sterling the lad if he keeps his feet on the ground I think will be the next on the list hes pure quality and his pace is electrifying I just hope we can build a team that will keep him here for years because if we don't become a successful team the sharks will be sniffing to take him.

These last few months has shown that he is wasted on the wings and should be playing just behind the strikers.

yea totally agree but he seems to play in different positions due to br tactics in each game as it differs but yes I agree hes far more affective thru the middle that's for sure and coutinho could be the one to lose out if he continues to play that well in that position.

I was watching BT's coverage of the transfer deadline and the Peterborough chairman was on and saying that IF he keeps going how he is, he could be the first £100m player. Not sure if that's over egging it a bit but he has matured (even though he's 19) into a top player.

We also need to remember what happened in that awful LFC documentary where Rodgers had to give him a dressing down for being a d!ck and answering back. He's come a long way so lets hope he keeps going.

He is certainly the best teenager in the world right now. To be honest he is right up there with Pogba/Neymar as for best talents

I remember when faz posted the "raheem the myth sterling" thread. A few of us stuck up for him (emp was one I remember), but many were saying that he wasn't good enough. I think it's safe to say he's proved the doubters wrong. He's a lively talent for sure.

I also think him shifting to behind the striker may have had something to do with why we bought Markovic and Lallana.

To be fair to people knocking him, he did seem like a little Bertie Big boll0x a few seasons ago. He got his England call up and his new contract and seemed to go off the boil. Fair play to him though for realising he hadn't already made it and has become one of the best in the country.
