Luis Suarez has made an unexpected return to Liverpool FC's training ground on transfer deadline day.

But the ex-LFC striker was just back briefly "bearing gifts".

Reds skipper Steven Gerrard posted a picture of himself and former team-mate Suarez on Instagram this morning, with both players holding a Barcelona shirt with the Uruguayan's name on the back.

The captain said: "He is back bearing gifts.

"Emotional saying goodbye to the main man this morning.

"Best wishes to a phenomenal player."

Nobody here feels that we have missed on 2 proven goal scorers in Remy and Falcao? I am gutted actually, would have preferred Falcao over Balotelli and Remy over Borini. Thoughts

I would take him time and again over the other two mentioned, no question.

Im pizzed about Remy. They now have cover if Costa gets hurt and Remy would have fit in well with us. Ive never really seen Falcao play, he has nice stats though.
