Spurs aren't City. Far from it . They're good but they're defence is also leaky (just like ours I suppose!). Obviously we can't take it for granted that we'll beat them but they are very beatable unlike City who are very strong.

We have to be very good in midfield on the day. From what I've seen of spuds this season they don't let players turn when receiving the ball and the close down very quickly. If our passing a sharp on the day we'll be okay but if we have too many players having a Johnson we're fcked.

When the Liverbird meets the Cockerel,
What is there like to be;
Will it be a fight, or love on sight,
In White Hart Lane to see?
Will talon and claw decide the draw,
As some might well expect;
Or the Cockerel woo and Liverbird coo,
and the both of them be fecked!

Being a Liverbird I can assure you it wont be the latter.

Great work Herc! smile

I didn't read the comments of those who reviewed the game on here that Wilki mentioned but we were certainly not sh!t and the score line was deceiving.

We were however lacking something, we weren't creating enough up front. Hopefully, with the new signing still to come into the side (Markovic, Lallana and Mario etc) that'll change.

I won't say we were great in the first 40 mins, we contained them very well but hardly created anything. The first goal was after a mistake but they had really started to put pressure on us. We never deserved a draw over the whole game as they really overrun in the second half us until their second goal. We were not shiit though and I never expected a win.

Yeah I agree, a draw wouldn't have been a fair result but 3-1 was harsh on us. We offered little in the second half until late on though. I think containing the champions away from home (quite comfortably) for 40mins is playing great, I didn't mean we were dominating or anything.

I don't think we were comfortable containing them, we need to up our game to get a result against Spurs, I am dead sure about that.

So what is it about Spurs that has you so convinced they'll beat us? Is it because they've won three games against very suspect opposition or the fact we lost to the Man City machine at their place?

Never said they would beat us, I said we need to win that game, but to do so we need to improve our performance which is completely doable. Our performance in the first 2 games were not the greatest. They have probably improved over last season but as we were much better, so should still edge it. Where did you see that I was convinced they would beat us?

It's just the general gist of your posts. I'm far from convinced we'll beat them. I'm not sure what way it'll go. We are a much bigger test than they've had so far though even when we're not at our best. Hopefully Balotelli will play as I'm sure he'll want to prove to us and every body else what he can do.

For me we just need a good win to show everyone including our own fans that we're not fcked without Suarez. The performances in the first two games have worried me as I think we've looked toothless (oops) in the final third.
