Defense not just about players, we could have Hummels partnering Lovern and still leak goals, there is something off with the teams organization defensively, we keep losing focus, the players let their guard down to often .

I think it all came down to City's fire power. Last season we at least had the possibility of outscoring them, not so this time around.

Moreno and Lovren were a bit out of sync tonight, but it's a tough game to get your debut. Once the backline gets settled, I think it'll improve.

City was one level above us in almost all positions.

These words sum our problem and the difference between us and City..

Quote:
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "We worked the whole game and played a very good team. We worked without the ball for 95 minutes and with the ball we made enough danger to score three goals.
"When you play against a strong team you have to concentrate

They only scored two against Newcastle last week though, and were decidedly ordinary too, so, what's the difference....and don't give me this 'home advantage guff' either, 'cus I don't subscribe to it.

Moreno has taken a bit of a bashing but I thought he looked superb. Lovren put him under pressure for the goal and he was beaten to the ball - not such a big deal. Apart from that he was excellent.

As for the result, we were away at the league champions and were by no means outplayed. That's the toughest game of the season out of the way already...

watching the second goal again, that was just ugly defending all over from Skirtel, Johnson and Hendo..

- Lovern and Moreno moved up for the offside trap but Skirtel and Johnson stayed deep, the City player would have been clearly offside if all the defenders were up in one line

- when Jovtic flicked the ball Hendo was next to him, when the City player made a rune into the box Jordan ignored his run when he should have picked it.

exact same problems from last season, pointed them out before, this is a trend, a tactical/training problem that happened before and will happen again..

Second goal a good one from an excellent team. 1st and 3rd were mistakes.

However we keep doing it. Its not a one off,its everygame now.

We can have a dream team but without the tactical defensive plan and proper training the problems will still be the same
