GOT to think positive.

I would have hoped for a draw tonight,I never got it, My only hope now is that stan enjoyed his Prawn butties.

Bad result but a good performance by some, in the end we were beaten by a better side. Positives from the game have to be Moreno and Markovic the looked good. Thank goodness we signed a striker cuz we desperately needed a second striker today, for me there's still a gaping hole in our midfield

yea the gap in the midfield is Gerrard. we need a DM that will start over Gerrard on most days.

I also think we need a 4th striker if Borini is headed out. We play much better with 2 on at once. Well, maybe not better but more exciting to watch, with 2 strikers.

Only positive is its over and behind us.

As much as i like couthino and sterling,when we play both of them we look very lightweight.i know that size isnt everything but with those 2 if you can stop their running game then you stop them completly.chelski and city arent just good teams they are big and strong.i think next week we will see can and balotelli start.we were crying out for some physical presence tonight.we need to be able to play in more than one way.

Just back from the game the drink wearing off I have had a shower to wash Manchester off me. We lacked a cutting edge and city are a level above us unfortunately it's early days but top 4 looks more our level sorry to be so miserable I am weak and tired one other thing city fans are becoming the new United fans things are grim, grim indeed. No positive news to report not one

Top 4 would be massive achievement this season and if 6 of the 9 we have signed turn out to be good ones then the title will come inside another 2 years.

Plenty of positives and I am pretty sure the toughest game we will play all season is now gone.

Lots learned tonight especially by Moreno. Might as well learn from a game we were more likely to lose than win in the first place.

No worries on commitment or effort. Those watching will know they have to earn a place in the first team squad come match day.

I Don't think Gerrard had a bad game. His set pieces were questionable. Allen didn't offer much going forward. He looked unsure of himself at times. Not slating the lad, just my personal view. I agree with you about a fourth striker. Even when Lambert signed before Suarez left I thought we needed another competent man up front that can score goals. With the amount of games coming up and the only ones we got is Sturridge and possibly Ballotelli, I can't really see the team having a good go in the Champions League. Hopefully Lallana and Markovic bring in some goals on both fronts.

I actually didn't think we played badly, but City look like a machine right now. Not much in the way of weakpoints. Coutinho and Glenson had poor games, but other than that, I don't think anyone was bad. Allen's final ball needed a bit more and Moreno looks like he needs some time to adjust. He had moments of real quality. Hopefully he'll be ok with that ankle.

Cons: our defensive shape (which began excellently) fell apart. Johnson was shocking. Phil was anonymous again. We lacked any real clinical edge

Pros: Our pressing remained intense, and we maintained a fierce effort, despite the result. Lambert broke his duck, and Markovic and Can looked good.

Lessons learned: we play better with a diamond. Johnson is finished. Lambert is a good impact sub. He's changed the game every time we've brought him on. Balotelli can't get into the team soon enough.
