This is a massive gamble. Jaysus he is the biggest wildcard in football at the moment. I've seen him be lazy and shiite more than anything else. If we buy him and the season unravels it won't bode well for Rodgers.
Is he worth the risk? I don't think he is. We must be getting desperate.
Luis Garcia, He drinks sangria He came from Barca, to bring us Joy He's five foot seven, he's football heaven please don't take my Luis away.

I wouldn't be surprised if we still saw 2 strikers come in. Mario and someone else if Borini goes.

I think every time he played against Liverpool (and again similar to Berbatov, especially when he was at Fulham), I would laugh inwardly that thank god they have this lazy, uninterested lout upfront.

From the stuff on the internet looks like a done deal. I am really on the fence here. Good player but more mental than Suarez.

I agree I am not in support of buying him but remember united with cantona he was the idiot (for worse than balotelli) but united was the club for him and he grew up (albeit with the odd karatti kick). No one canm deny balotelli has talent its just his flaws and like I say it depends on the contract. If it works it could make the difference title or no title

He is mental, but seems to have calmed down in the past year and NO ONE can say he can't turn a match on its head all by himself. He is definitely a game change. On the fence about this, but i think i will be happy if we get him.

I wonder how high Balotelli ranked on a list of transfer targets at the start of the summer because this really seems to have come about out of desperation to me. I really hope to be proven wrong but I just can't see this working, he's extremely similar to Berbatov in that it's ALL about him & if things aren't going his way he mopes around looking totally uninterested. Balotelli represents almost the complete opposite to the ethos Rodgers has instilled. That's a very good post and you are right but unfortunately we are desperate I guess it depends on the type of contract he is offered. A four year lucrative contract would clearly be insanity but something shorter with more flexibility might make sense in our current position and he does have talent and he would fit into our set up playing wise it's just he is a [oops] I think serious questions need to be asked Stan, regarding how Liverpool find themselves in this position again, they had known for over a year that Suarez was working towards a move to Spain and in all that time a suitable replacement was never identified?! I believe Rodgers was being completely genuine when he stated categorically that Balotelli wouldn't be joining Liverpool and now Liverpool are after him only as a complete and utter last resort.

Is he worth the risk? I don't think he is. We must be getting desperate. Of course we’re desperate, look at what we have up front with 5 competitions facing us, what for example if Sturridge get injured? if that happens we’re screwed as things stand, I’d prefer Falco or Cavani of course, but those two look increasingly unlikely, so I say take the gamble and sign him. Ok it’s a risky move for Rodgers as you say, but so would coming 6th or 7th. In football, as in life, it’s a case of nothing ventured nothing gained...take the risk, go for it...oh and do it with the stadium also!

My problem is the fact that Liverpool have been allowed to get into this desperate situation yet again. Somebody, whether it be FSG, Ayre or Rodgers really isn't doing things correctly.
