Not sure how the home grown rule works but with certain players leaving how well placed are we with the rules for PL and CL?
Apparently Man City are supposed to be offloading a player because they are struggling to meet quotas. Chelsea struggle but I read somewhere that Fabregas somehow qualifies as home grown due to his time at Arsenal.
We have the 7 England Internationals. But outside of that what do we have? Ibe, Allen.
Think about it a bit more and it might explain why we need to keep Johnson and why we signed Lambert. The quota needs to be kept quite fluid and 3 of them are over 30. Also the squad in the OP was getting close to the 24/25 mark once a couple of people had chipped in with other suggestions. So there is relatively little room for manoeuvre as it is.
I think players like Ibe can still be used as either part of that number or can be drafted in on the basis of age. Also Borini missing from that list too. There is still space in the squad but it could be a juggling act and not only looking for the right player but also the right nationality and juggling that with whether that player is a long term signing or a stop gap one.

Lucas and Suso actually count has homegrown players because we signed them so young.

Short of a striker, I think we look pretty healthy.
I'm not even overly fussed about the striker. I think we have enough attacking ability to plug a gap if Sturridge gets injured - although not ideal. I think we should start the season with what we have and dip back into the market in January if need be. There just doesn't seem to be value in the striker market right now.
