How would you define a paper fan ? I will be interest interested in this reply

A fan made from paper...same as a paper tiger, they both go Grrrr! But their bark is always worse than their bite, as they generally have no teeth

someone that cheers for a team because they are winning and bails out when they lose their stature, becoming a "supporter" of another team.

Liverpool have a worldwide following but please don't lump us with them, the Reds hardly dominated over 20 years for club supporters to be bandwagon jumpers.

I don't think United has a lot of paper fans as per your definition though

by no means do claim that all of them or even most of them are fake, just that they have plenty of them that when they dropped off it will cost ManU million in merchandising sales.

also when subtracting those who abandoned MU in the tough times you will find Liverpool has a much bigger world wide following.

I don't know a single fan who has abandoned them, don't know what you are talking about. Their fans are as comparable to ours, dead sure about that and I know quite a few friends and relatives.

I agree with Vish Mr Eastman is talking complete nonsense. Fans are made up of members of the public the idea they are genetically different if they support Liverpool is something out of junior school

The home British fans are loyal, but a large part of the world wide fanbase jump from one team to another, one year it's Chelsea another year it's ManCity, they will jump on the Liverpool bandwagon should the club start winning trophies regularly.

My whole point is about the add and how it shows the MU dependence on merchandise sales that bring in more revenue than the Champions League.

Is it like that in your country? It's not like that at all where I live.
