I think that there is a general consensus that we need a proven goalscorer, however, it also appears that the market is very soft as there are not many available and those available are overvalued. Last time we had a somewhat similar situation (with less time) was when Torres was sold and we ended up with an over priced purchase. Though we paid too much, I think we had to take a chance, even with hindsight, I know some like being wise especially after the event. What do people think we should do this time around? Should we go for overpriced but not very prolific players like Bony or Lavezzi or Cavani (who are apparently available) or wait for next transfer windows?

From that list I went for Bony as at least he's done it in the prem. Lavezzi would be nice and I don't see the fuss with Cavanni for the money we'd have to pay.

One player that was linked that seems to have go e quiet was Huntelaar. Now I know he's not a foetus so doesn't fit the FSG policy but is quality.

Huntelaar is 30 I think and has not always been very consistent, so don't really fancy him, we have somebody quite similar in Lambert who is less prolific but more proven in the EPL.

We're starting to get linked to Iscardi now too. I think he could do a nice job, really good player at a young age.

Really don't know. Only Messi or Ronaldo could replace Luis so we should be looking for a someone who could get to that standard. No point looking at 28+ players, we need someone who can do a good job now then go on to be great.

I dont know anything about those players but we need a top striker or we can forget a title bid
