We're back in the Champions League yet your still crying about how bad things are because we lost a friendly to Man Utd.

Interesting way to support a team, typical doom merchant, where were you last season?

But now they have LVG everything is rosy again, even though they have ridiculously over-paid for two players and have pretty much lost their whole back 4.

Anyone else noticed that because of Van Gaal's extraordinarily long head, you never get a close up of him on camera.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Hopefully the liability that is Johnson will be going and we can have Flanagan and Manquillo as the two right backs, with Kelly as potential 3rd choice.

Surely the answer would be to have Kelly, Flanagan, Wisdom or McLaughlin as Johnsons number 2 then? not bringing in another foreign flop ahead of our own young talent.

Firstly, that's just ludicrous, how can he possibly be a foreign flop already? It's pretty ignorant to assume that he'll flop because he's foreign. Secondly, Every man and his dog was surprised by how well Flanagan did last season but I don't know anybody who truly believes he'll go on to be our first choice right back for the next ten or more years. Furthermore, you seem to be forgetting that Kelly and Wisdom are both naturally centre backs and presumably the club will be looking to move them there at some point, in which case we'd be left needing a natural right back. And finally, by all accounts this Manquilo kid is rather highly rated and could just possibly be better already than any of the players you've just mentioned.

Wisdom had a very very good season in the championship, more than good enough to be given a shot as backup to Johnson. Kelly was impressive before his injuries, if he can keep fit, he should be given a chance. Flanagan was hit and miss and shouldn't be demoted for a loanee, he simply needs more playing time in his natural position, not thrown in at left back. McLaughlin will be ready in a year or 2 as well.

So have you seen this new fella play? Do you know how good he is?

Wicked he will be a great player for us. Especially as he's young, hungry and will be cheap in 2 years aswell. And for people that are moaning, that's why we got him on loan to see if he will do well for us and the main reason that he didn't play that many games for Madrid last year was because he broke his leg when he tackled Ronaldo. Giv him a chance that what everyone at least deserves in br we trust

Shorty, the only question mark over this lad for me is, why are Athletico allowing him to leave if he's so promising? They've just made the Champions League final, won their domestic league and received around £30million from Chelsea for Costa, so it doesn't seem like they'd be desperate for the finances.

Another is then that I like to see what's the difference when we bought maschrano from west ham and he only played for west ham like 2 or 3 times for them before we bought him
