But I have a bit of a dilemma and I was hoping that all of you wizened old chaps could help me out.

I haven't bought a replica kit in years, for a variety of reasons - they cost too much, they change every year, etc. The last one I bought, and the only one that still fits me, unfortunately says "Torres 9" on the back. Of course now I know never to buy kits with names on the back, because with the exception of Stevie and Carra, most players these days are money-grabbing so-and-sos. But I was young and foolish then, so lesson learned. Anyways, because American supporters tend to try to express their devotion by buying and wearing as much club gear as possible, I thought I might wear my old kit. For better or for worse, I don't want to be mistaken for some prawn-sandwich munching corporate hack.

The problem is, of course, that it's a Torres kit. Personally, any ill-will I had towards the man dried up a long time ago as his career has nose-dived. All I have left now are some fond memories of the guy scoring that first goal against Chelsea, leaving Vidic chasing shadows at OT, scoring that wonder-volley against Blackburn, etc. But I know some folks are still a bit peeved, and understandably so.

So my question for you folks is a simple one: Torres jersey - yay or nay?

Buy a new shirt if you can, it will help the club.

I give away the old ones as buying shirts is the only way to help the club I support. Otherwise it would be pointless to only demand that owners pour their own money in the club, no?

Has Torres' career really nose dived since he left US? Didnt he win the PL and CL with Chelski. I think we need to get over this Torres issue. He was a fantastic player for us and contributed so much. We cant blame him if the owners lied to him etc. Quite a few players claimed they had been lied to and there is rarely smoke without fire...especially in these matters.

Wear it if you like, any shitt you get (if any) will be good hearted smile
I wouldn't have the dilemma myself as I would have burned / binned it the day his sale went through..

I gave up buying the kits a long time ago.. get yourself a retro shirt from the Liverpool website and you're set for life - they almost look better the older and worn they get wink Other than that, get yourself a nice polo from the shop - especially if you're getting on a bit like me laugh

Would any of you take Torres back if he was available for say 5 million and the bus driver didn't care too much about selling to us?

If all else fails say that word outstanding a couple of times. The more you do the more you will believe your own spin.

Five to seven million? Sure.

Any more than that and I wouldn't consider it in the slightest. Statistically he's one of the worst strikers in the league isn't he?

Gerrard can make him look like a world class striker again and he might have a year or two in him yet.
