I am not sure they are really used to gauge our best line up, otherwise i dont see why Peterson would be getting so much gametime. Also, the last thing we want is the plazers going al out for the win and getting injured. I really dont read into these pre season friendlies too much. I think they are bu11sh1t.

exactly, we dont want to lose anymore. I think these friendlies are about fitness, and nothing else. They are basically like training sessions for the players. The clubs use them as an excuse to get more money out the fans by calling it "The international champions cup" instead of, your Sunday friendly training match. At least thats how I feel...

Agree with most comments so far (is that possible). Preseason is about fitness and sharpness etc but tbf weve gotta get more fluency and importantly create chances. Last night was particularly bad from that point of view. Very few chances made but lots of lads got minutes.
Ye cant just turn it on so we need to start getting our [oops] together relatively quickly. Kick off day coming fast and to have any hope especially with our first few fixtures we need to get off to a flyer

It's looked that way, but I try not to read too much into pre-season. Aspas looked a great buy during pre-season last summer, and Sterling looked terrible. Lets waitn until things really start before we bemoan our lack of attack.

Important or not, there's no denying that we'll need to adapt to life without Suarez. So much depended on him last season.

I think Reina should be given a run out in the friendlies, I don't see Jones as a good enough back up keeper so we need to see if Reina will be suitable to keep.
Who knows he may even take the No.1 jersey back off Mignolet.
