You also state he played as a winger at Dortmund so feel free to explain how he is a proven striker?

A striker is someone who score goals and scoring 16 goals in a new team in his first season by not even playing as a main striker is a good proof to me. He also scored 18 goals in 2011-2012 season. So in brief, he scored 18, 21 and 16 goals over the last 3 seasons, is that a good enough explanation?

Not for me no, as stated the French league isn't exactly the strongest.

Chamakh being a perfect recent example.

We'll see how he copes with being Dortmund's main striker now Lewandowski has left.

Ffs Chris, Shane Long will replace Lewandowski as Dortmunds no.1 striker.

Is he good enough, I know he was scouted a lot over the last year.

He's got CL experience and has looked really good in France. I would favor the idea.

And where did Thierry Henry come from? He was also a flop at Juve.

It's not really set in stone how one league translates to the other. It's more about the player himself and the attributes he has. Certain things translate to the prem well, some don't. Henry's speed and athleticism definitely did.
