last year it was mostly 4-3-1-2, what do you guys think the new sets will be?

I think it will be mostly Rodgers original favorite 4-3-3 as the main formation..

- this time we have a super winger in Markovic and Stirling will be the main player on the other wing, the problem here is that the 2 players are not consistent goal scorers and that is vital for the formation, Sanchez would have been perfect but that didn't happen.


- Cutinho, Lalana will be creative CM, Can and Henderson will be box to box CM, on occasion Rodgers may use 2 box2box players in the same time for a defensive formation, or 2 plymaking CMs for an attacking formation.

Who is the gerrard alternative, Lucas or Allen?

I'd say Allen or Can.

Perhaps playing a 2-1 midfield when gerrards out? Can-hendo with coutinho/sterling/lallanna/ibe ahead?

You have the right idea. I definatley rate Can>hendo

I think they would do really well together. A lot of pure power and athleticism. I rate Henderson too. I don't want to see him shipped out by any means.

Henderson is going nowhere, he is definitely one for the future of Liverpool and should be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Last season he really grew into the role and I hope he improves even more this season.

A lot will depend on how frequently Gerrard will be used.
