Players leave Liverpool every season the club remains and this time around the team will be better off. Suarez although brilliant at times had a sanity about him that I'm pleased we rid off. Hopefully BR gets the signings right. We need goals from all over to mount a serious challenge and a less shaky defense. We also need goals from our CBs and the wing backs.

Keep the faith. I reckon things will turn out better than some gloom mongers in here are expecting.

He was a loon, lol but talent oh the talent. I still cant get how far the Totts fell after they lost Bale even though they put all the money back into the team. They should have finished 10th or worse. Hopefully with our manager that wont happen. All the fans from other clubs told me that LFC are a 1 man team, guess we will find out.

Absolute total bullsh1t.

The last third of last season I and many others really thought he'd gone off the boil tbh, so the doom and gloomers may care to perhaps place that conspiracy theory into their pipes and smoke it p'raps? whistle

Agreed. Have you seen the speed this lad moves with the ball at his feet and a good footballing brain too. He'll fit in right in with our system.

Last season we saw the diamond a lot and 352 to accommodate both Suarez and Sturridge. This season we won't see that and I'll be surprised if we play with 2 up front at all. I'll be very surprised if Rodgers doesn't go back to the 433 with a fluid, rotational forward line.
Suarez is gone now, good luck to him, but we are Liverpool Football Club and we've lost top players before and moved on. Torres, Owen etc, we may not have "replaced" the player but we've adapted and moved on as a club and (at times) a team.
There have been times recently when you could argue that Liverpool is a one man team or two man team (Gerrard with or without Suarez or Torres)but last season showed that (even though Luis scored an incredible amount of goals) we are a 'team'.
The play between the players last year was something I've never seen in all my years supporting the club (I'm only 23) and it was incredible to watch the team that Brendan has created in front of us.
Yes, we will still have a main man scoring more goals then others but this season it won't be Suarez and I'll be surprised if it's a new addition. For me, it will be Danny Sturridge proving that he's a top class striker and I'll bet he's the BPL top scorer.

What we need isn't a striker to replace Suarez's goals, we need players to fit into our club and work together to all create more goals.
We have our main striker (Danny), we have a back up striker who's well up for the task (Lambert) but I would like to see us bring in a top player that is able to play anywhere along that top 3.
I don't think Lallana was brought in to play on the wing or 'up top' but instead in midfield. As I see it, we have a very solid midfield in Gerrard, Can, Allen, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho and Suso. Obviously there is also Texeira and some other guys that we 'may' see from the academy but we're well stacked and I think we are quite strong there.
Our defence needs work, we all know that. I assume we all expect that Agger will be leaving and we are looking for a "leader" to come straight into the side and partner Sakho. Who that is, no one knows yet (although Lovren looks extremely likely) and it's not secret that we need a left back, preferably to come straight into the first team.
Up front, we have options with Sturridge, Sterling, Markovic (assuming it happens) and Lambert. I think Aspas and Borini will be going and I'd be surprised if Rodgers doesn't bring in two players that can play anywhere along those lines.

In conclusion, I don't think we need a Bony, Lukaku type player. I don't even think we need a Benzema, Higuain. I think Sturridge should and will be our main man, he's earned that. We need someone to support him from wide and cover the centre when he is rested. My choices would be Reus/Lavezzi with the other attacking place going to Shaqiri but let's wait and see.

This club isn't about Suarez, it's about the team and we will fight for those top spots, with or without Suarez.

I get that but a name like Lukaku, Bony, Benzena etc would all expect to start and play through the middle. Sturridge shouldn't be shifted wide to accommodate them when he's proven himself.
If we get a Reus/Lavezzi type then if Sturridge is injured they will play through the middle. If they are injured too we have Lambert and worst case scenario either a Shaqiri, Markovic, Sterling or even Ibe can play up there. They've done it before.
We don't need "specialists" when Rodgers likes versatility.

We have 3 "forward" positions. Currently they can be filled by Sturridge, Lambert and Sterling. Markovic is basically done. Two more versatile players for those positions would more than fill the quota.
