BR has had a superb performance last season, best ever actually. I think he still needs to confirm while Van Gaal is a manager with good credentials being also confirmed at the WC right now. There will probably be 5 teams to fight for 4 places next year and the biggest required improvement would be from Manure. If you were given the choice, would you like a swap of BR for LVG today? I would be tempted to, because I think that his pedigree would help sign better players, but this would not be an easy choice. Your preference.

LVG is untested in a competitive league like the prem, he's abrasive with his players, any half decent manager should win the league with Bayern and Barcelona but he's also been sacked by both of those clubs. He might do okay in the premier league but I have my doubts, he'll have trouble with the superstars of the prem not liking his hitler routine. He'll alienate the press and I think he'll only last 1 season.
BR is the future of management as he's young enthusiastic and the players love him. It would be massively short sighted in my opinion.

Do we really need a thread questioning whether we should swap Rodgers for Van Gaal just because he subbed a keeper before penalties?
This place just gets worse!

This place just gets worse! We are not going to swap anybody and doesn't have anything to do with the subbing of a goalkeeper. It's just to know what people prefer, a proven quality of taking a chance. I just wanted to know how people think.

Well I think Rodgers proved what he can do. No reason he can't keep it going with the right support from the club. He's very young so has the potential to be our manager for 10, 20 years to come. Van Gaal may have won some stuff but as box says, any decent manager should win things with Barca and Bayern. He's also not the future at his age so they'll be looking for another manager in a couple of years.

Would we swap him for Capello? He's won [oops] loads over the years.

Agree completely six. Only manager I'd maybe swap for would be Ancelotti.

Thanks again growler. I'll try and keep up the good work which won't be hard if people can't grasp some reality.
