Thought we could all use a break from this Suarez madness and, to a lesser extent, the World Cup madness. So I thought that we could have some fun and try to name our underrated player of the season, our goal of the season and a player to watch next season. I'll go first:
It would be no shock if I said Joe Allen for the underrated player of the season as I am a fan of his. I do think that he ha done well when called upon but, to be a bit different, I'll go for Simon Mignolet. This is a player who has come under a lot of stick recently and I can't really see why. He had a tough job to do replacing Pepe Reina and I think that he has pulled off some brilliant saves this season. Yes he's made some mistakes but all keepers do, definitely a big part of our success this season, not least of which because of that Stoke penalty save.
For goal of the season, I will say Suarez first against Norwoc at Anfield.
The player I will pick to watch for next season is young Raheem Sterling. He's been a player that I have always liked since he first burs on to the scene and he has had a great season this year. He's now a vital component in our team and can only get better with age next season. However he may face stiff competition from Lallana,Shaquiri or whoever we sign.
