You'd be surprised by how it easy it is to bribe a ref....from what i have heard and read.

FIFA will do everything they can to help Brazil win the world cup. That will justify the poor decision to host the competition in a third world country, even though the long term financial benefits of hosting a world cup are a loss of 100's of millions of dollars.

But Brazil are a great group of talented footballers and Scolari is a great coach, so they have a great chance of winning anyway.

This world cup has to be better than the last one. How the hell was Seuth Ifrika selected to host the last one aye?

if was a sheet=ful tournament, boring football and all i could hear was those dumb ass trumpets. feck me that was hideous. has to be the worst world cup ever. worst tournament ever.

But come on orstralia! my prediction is socceroos 2 - chili 1. and Hugh Jackman to score the first and Rolf Harris to score for the other team (sic). oi oi oi.

The goal they took away from Croatia was as bad as the penalty call itself. Just one sided terrible officiating. Also even on the Oscar goal it looked like a Croatian player was fouled at midfield to open that play up. All calls went Brazils way and it was a joke. Croatia arent a bad team bye the way, they have some really good players just not in goal. lol I think Brazil will breeze through a poor Mexico and Cameroon team, that group is a red carpet rolled out to get Brazil an A seed in the Knockout rounds.

How about the fact that the stadiums and pitches still arent ready or worthy to host the event. Thats a joke.

Trust me, CrOatia are a poor team with some htrilliant individuals. They have talent throughout their squad but they are not a team and have an inexperienced manager at the helm.

Its not a fix or bribe it was just a ref with no balls giving the home team a pen. How many times have we seen it. That's what we call a homer.

I did think he looked a bit camp when he pointed to the spot for the penalty.

Brazil will win it because they are at home and no European country has ever won in South America. But they used up a few favours last night. The disallowed Croatia goal at 2-1 and the booking of Neymar when a ref with balls would have given a straight red are two more incidents that spring to mind.

They are very good players but still do not play as a team. When they do they will be very good team. Fred is a cheat, Neymar is overrated and their keeper is absolute shitt.

Croatia are a team with 3 or 4 very good technical players but aren't going to pull up any trees with Jelavic up front. Their keeper is awful.

It was a reasonable game to watch for a first game and just the sort of platform that a successful side will build on. The performance was not great from Brazil but they would happily have taken a 3-1 win before the game.

As I said weeks ago, Brazil will win the world cup because they have the best squad and the best manager. Some of the comments on here are ridiculous, Brazil won 3-1 last night without stepping out of 1st gear, not because of a dodgy referee or cheating or whatever other [oops] some of you come out with whenever you don't like a result.
