Let's be clear no managers is going to say the owners are terrible and there not backing me. Rodgers is realistic and plays the public game good. Will he stick up for the fans when they don't back him and say no actually we could do with 1 or 2 more signings.
Everything in this day in age is a mini drama and anything against the owner said can be taken and spun.

Any self respecting manager with options would leave a club which isn't backing him. Also, Rodgers has praised the owners without being asked about them. Whenever he gets asked about his love for LFC he comments that the shared vision between him and the owners is what attracts him to the club so much. That's how i understood his comments.

Rogers would not have signed a new contract weeks ago if he didn't feel they would give him enough to compete. Is he going to get City's money? Of course not, but if he felt he would be wasting his time I have no doubt he would have threatened to go. Coming off a spectacular season he could have just walked into a host of high profile jobs.
I get the feeling he doesn't want to overpay either for players it's not just FSG. Give it time, we have two down and plenty of scope for more to come and be shown the door! It's become more a balancing act and poker game these days with the FFP angle.

False promises have been told many a times Champions league is no playground and fsg will leave with a bloody nose if we don't qualify again

I agree that now revenue is on the up and there's CL money/requirements to keep us there, we need more than 20m net this summer. I agree they should have strengthened in January, however...
After the Jan transfer window shut, we won 11 league games on the bounce.
A tribute to Rodgers and the players, not FSG, but you can hardly say we'd be sitting here Champions if they've bought Kono.

You just can't do the retrospective "what if" thing - it doesn't work. The reason we went on that 11 game win streak had to a lot to do with chemistry - and the fact that BR was forced to trust the players he had. You can't assume that Kono or any other signing would have put us over the top - we'll never know and football doesn't always proceed by logic.
One thing IS clear. Liverpool MUST strengthen in the post-season with some high quality players. Not a half dozen Adam Johnson types - but at least a couple out of the top draw. This takes 25-40 million - and FSG are already balking over the 18 mil for Moreno. I just wish we'd realise that we have to pay higher transfer fees if we want to compete at the top. Spot on.

Well we can do retrospective as far as signings go Kop. We all said pretty much the same thing last xmas when we were sitting on top , but look what that got us! And as you say it’s as clear now as it was then that we must strengthen with some high quality players, and yes it does look as if FSG are balking over a lowish to mid priced player. The signs are not looking good, and one would think; surely they cant miss (or rather scuttle) the boat again, but they very well might!

Let's be honest. The big teams like Chelsea expect to be ripped off and pay extra on transfer fees along with city too. I do agree that every player has his value and we shouldn't go way over that value but the moreno deal seems to me like one of those that should of been done already for the sake of 1-2 million in add-ons or whatever.
Sevilla have history of slowing transfers down. It took city ages to get negredo and agree a fee for him. The worst thing that could happen is to let fsg loose with the suarez money if he leaves.
