They just didn't want to come, simple as that eh?

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Look, don't misunderstand me, i am just as disappointed as you that we didn't strengthen in Jan. I really wanted Konoplyanka to join us, i rate him very highly and i am angry FSG didn't do what it took to get him, although it seems Dnipro messed us around on that one. All i am saying is, i don't want a repeat of Carroll or Downing or the next Lamela. There has to be a line somewhere, which we will not go above.

Champions league is a different level. Fsg need to step up as well.

Thing is though Jay, we need FSG to back the manager as long as it stays within the bounds of FFP. This will be a 3 or 4 window development of the team from here subject to him buying wisely. He appears decisive in moving players on quickly when it is clear they haven't worked out which should again help with funds but those who claim they don't back him cannot flame City and Chelsea on the one hand and then rip into the owners at this point if they are not prepared to risk huge fines because everyone wants every sweet in the sweet shop in one visit.

Like it or not it has to be spread over multiple windows or we will be losing a WC player or more in fines.

Do we know exactly what happens behind closed doors to be able to make judgements? Do we know the exact roles played by FSG, BR and the committee? Do we know for a fact that we would have won the league had we strengthed in January? What if one of our would-be signings had scored an own goal that lost us a game? I'm not attacking or defending anyone, just refraining from making judgements while not having all the facts.

There's a transfer committee that they refer too or have done in the past and they have that because they don't know squat basically.

Rodgers wants more say so on transfers but without the right money I'm not sure that will even matter. Rodgers May say he wants lallana and fsg go and speak to their group of trusted people and they may say no that's too much etc etc or they could say anything. Comolli was the one who negotiated prices before and he got took to the cleaners. There's a fine line...

When it's a case of 5 million for a top player or even 2 extra million u think that's where they are very port in negotiations.

Rodgers has said he is a member if that transfer committee and has the final say...obviously within reason. I don't think Rodgers would have signed a new contract if he felt the owners weren't backing him. There are a lot of clubs that would have gladly snapped him up. He had options yet he chose to stay and is continuously complementing the owners and their shared vision for the club.

You may be right but I sensed some frustration by some of the statements rodgers made particularly just after Jan. Any messing from these guys Rodgers agent will be touting him around next season

That may be, i also sensed some frustration from him after the January window, but i am not sure whether he was frustrated with the owners or because he didn't get his man. I believe he was quite upset he didn't get Kono as we all were, and he could have been venting his frustrations at Dnipro screwing us.

Also, i am sure he wouldn't have signed a new long term contract unless he had control of matters such as transfers.
