Who cares if they like the Red Sox more?
It's their money. I think they'll run liverpool based on what they are doing in other ventures and have before. Henry and Werner have to get go aheads from other people when investing into Liverpool. I don't like the idea of MAYBE being reliant on some yank baseball team doing well or not. I'm a phillies fan anyway. Fuckoutahere with the Red Sox

They've got lucky up to now with probably the best man manager in the league. Ayer is responsible for commercial developments (already at the club) and if the American deals were because of FSG surely Henry would have done that swiftly himself? Revenues appear better due to the pool of money that all elite clubs are benefiting from 10 years on from Moyes that is a ridiculous argument for FSG.
Where I will give them credit and I said so very shortly after they came in Stan was that I believed the ground would be sorted and it is. At 59,000 and a beautiful paint job it shows how ridiculous £400 million and a quoted 60,000 seater at SP with all our ghosts, traditions and history gone would have been.
I still believe the jury is still very much out though. Saw a statistic today - only 2 of the 16 or so players Rogers has bought can be considered to have made it. That is an abysmal record. He has done exceptionally well improving gifted players other managers already had here. If that doesn't improve and we are in 3rd or 4th next year what then?
They haven't had to make many tough football shrewd decisions yet but if faced with replacing Rogers and having to stump up £100 million or so or slip back down the table I'm not sure there will be so many singing there praises.
I'm not totally anti FSG but I am still somewhat wary.

I don't think that's a fair on Rodgers transfer dealing. Firstly, many of the players he did bring in were brought in for the bench and as squad players. Lets look at the ones he spent the most on.
Sakho- good deal IMO Sturridge - excellent Coutinho - excellent Aspas- poor but without a real chance Borini- bought for the future and proving to be useful off the bench Alberto- always meant for the future Yes

This is what happens when there are no concrete arguments against FSG's running of the club. There is no evidence that they have done anything bad in the past two years, quite the opposite. All the evidence points towards LFC being far better off now than the decade prior to their purchase of the club.
People turn to baseball and how much they invested elsewhere. I don't care how much they invested in the red Sox, i want to know, have they improved LFC? The answer is undoubtedly YES. How ?

Sturridge- superb Coutinho- superb for the fee. Aspas- never will be LFC quality. Borini- punt for £10 million. Like the lad, but we paid way over. Allen- Jury still out and not looking like £15 million worth. You can't be paying this for 'squad players' it's not Chelsea. This window really has to be right- I am hopeful it will be but he has to do a lot better in this area.

I'm getting really tired of all this whinging about owners. The team is playing well, and that's really all I care about. If they start playing badly and it's the owner's fault, fine, but now it just seems like people are looking at City and wanting what they have.

I wouldn't say we overpaid for Borini at all, especially seeing as we can recoup all of it it seems and there are interested clubs. Also, might I point to the fact that Sakho is 24 years old. He has at least another 7 years left in him, probably 8. He performed well in his first season in England with high expectations when he came in. I think he can only get better and that in today's market, you won't a single defender better than him for that pricetag, especially not one as young as him. Was Allen worth the 15 mil we spent on him, at the moment no, but Hendo wasn't worth the 20 we spent on him either, but just look at the lad now. I will give Allen another season to prove his worth. Aspas has turned out to be a flop, but i still think he is a very good footballer, he just hasn't really been given a run of games and he hasn't adapted as well as he might have liked. If he goes back to Spain, watch him, he'll be cracking them in in no time.

Stan out of interest who do you rate as the top 5 EPL team owners?
My guess would be 1. City 2. Chelsea 3. ? 4. ? 5. ?
