If so, yeah I agree. If the going rate for a decent player (Lallana) is 20-25m and the next step up is 30M (Cesc) then we should be going for the higher quality for a little bit more.

We are stepping up a league and while when it comes to wages I'm reserved and think all players get too much...it is the going rate and they will go somewhere else and make that other team successful. A lot of the times it's the agents making the player look greedy.

Atletico and Dortmund manage okay without buying £50m players. The difference with teams like Chelsea and city is they have patience with bringing players through the ranks. Liverpool are building a long term model that will make us compete with anyone and the difference between us and Dortmund is we don't need to sell. Long term success is the goal.

The thing is, people speak about 10 mil like its Peanuts. We got Phil for less than that, and Sterling. 10 mil is a whole new player and a lot of time the fee isnt justified. In some cases it is though. Like Cesc, him for 30 or Lallana for 25, i'd take Cesc.
