I see your point 4ever but surely he should have taken off Lucas for a more attack minded player up front.

He probably just thought that we needed to go for it and that Lucas offered more going forward that Mascherano. Lucas scored so he was proved right really.

It wasn't Lucas who scored, it was the defender it deflected off that scored!

If he wanted to take Masch off he should have dropped Lucas back and thrown on Babel or Spearing (Dunno who was on the bench) on as they are far more attack minded than Lucas. Lucas is a holding midfielder.

lucas is not a holding midfielder at all - he has been used as one but his game is about getting in the box and scoring goals or at least it was when we bought him

The whole time I have seen Lucas play, he has been in a holding midfield role. He isn't good enough in attack to be an attacking midfielder.

Lucas is a box to box player. He's great at time his runs when he's given the freedom to do it. But he's the not the quickest and premiership football is quicker than Brazilian football so he struggles to keep up making late bursts.

Lucas is a good player but he's surrounded by better players so he doesn't look up to much. I believe if we persist with him we'll have a very good player on our hands in a few years.

Emperor I think Lucas isn't a good fit for us but I still beleive his is a good player. Good player for mid prem side or a French side. I guess Rafa must see more in him to keep persisting with him. I say give Spearing the same chances and see what he does.

Isn't this thread supposed to be about Agger?? And because it is, I hope he stays. If he's asking for too much money then it depends on how much but I think he is a great player who is strong on the ball, reads the play well and runs at the opposition from defence. I hope he stays because it would be very disappointing to see him go.
