Not like aspas coming in for Sturidge or Suarez if injured or a different formation is required its a complete farce buying players like that!

Lambert not a drop in quality from SAS? Wot?

Lambert is a player "like Aspas" imo, in that we'll soon realise he isn't good enough. He is different from what we already have and is certainly stronger than Aspas, so that is one argument for it.

Look at it this way... if a few games in Studge picks up a knock and can't play next game (everyone else is fit), will we stick with the 442 diamond, or switch to a 433 with Saurez through the middle and sterling/couts wide? I think we both know the answer to this - and its the same for Aspas last season. I can only see him playing 8-10 sub appearances at best. Weird one...

We will probably end up playing at least 10 more games than last year and Suarez has been lucky with injuries. His dip in form for the last 5 games would come earlier too, so I don't think that a player coming in would only have sub appearances. That said, 10m for a 32 years old Lambert does look weird.

If Lallana signs it will also be great for him to play with someone like Lambert who he knows.

Mentioning Aspas with Lambert is silly. One is at the top of the league in goal and assist production the other cant kick a ball out of a wet papper bag. The fee is 4 mil plus incentives if he plays well. Its a no brainer, get him here and get some more depth with him.

I dont agree. I think thats exactly why were going for Lambert. So when Dannys hurt or Luis needs a rest or we need a goal and need a proven scorer to bring off the bench a 60 min. If your suggesting that we would be stuck again like when Danny was hurt with using Allen, and even Lucas joining the attack when we have Lambert on the squad your mad. Nobody is saying Lambert is Suarez quality. However he is EPL starter and goal scorer quality on our bench. When the scum won their last title they had RVP and Sloth, RVP that year was world class like Suarez was this year and Sloth was like theur Danny Sturrage. They still had Welbeck and Chicarito on the bench when need be. Welbeck and Chicarito arent on RVPs planet but they dam sure can score needed goals. Lambert can score needed goals.

Lambert won't get the same stats next season for the same reason Aspas didn't match his stats from last season - you can't score if you're not on the pitch. If you only play 15 mins every now again you'll also never 'hit your groove'. Besides, if you take out free kicks and pens (which he won't have a chance in hell of taking) what were Lambert's stats like last year? Were they better than Aspas' from the year before?

If he plays well he will have lots of opportunities to play with the number of games we will have. Aspas never gave a good performance, this is why he was getting 15 mins every now and then. When Suarez was serving his ban at the beginning of the season, Aspas was given his chance which he didn't take, he is not quick enough in decision making for the EPL, unlike Lambert.
