Masch is still to much of a hothead for the captaincy,Gerrard is no angel but Masch talks back to the refs to much.

he will be allowed to talk to the refs when he is captain i don't think he is a hot head a common misconception of him he is a natural leader he is our only natural leader

gerrard is a natural captain and will continue to be next season at liverpool , saying that if he did leave who could blame him hes gave us his best years ,but i think hel retire at liverpool he has had a bad season but when youre 1 of the best in the world its hard to keep those standerds when you hit thirty and youre surrounded with players like egg nog lucas an kuyt .
