It's just stupid to say everyone one else will strengthen so Liverpool have no chance. This year alone Arseanl spent £40m on one player, city spent £100m on players, united spent £70m on two players, Chelsea spent £100m this season and spurs spent £100m. But we still finished ahead of 4 of them. United won the league constantly not because of the players they had but because of the manager they had. If we just recruited a top DM to play alongside SG, we would immediately improve, now of we get a few more, we would definitely improve significantly.

Agree vish. We need a top DM and also a couple of top defenders. Trouble is, the only defender we're linked with is Caulker! We can't be defending like this year next year that's for sure and if we go into ECL with such a threadbare squad it won't matter who the manager is as it'll only end badly.

It's not the defenders, it's the way we're set up to attack that leaves the deffence exposed. Another top Mid would be first on my list to bulk up the squad.

Also need a 3rd top striker, can't rely on just Suarez and Sturridge with the extra europe games - michu maybe? If he could put his injuries behind him
