2nd is a truly remarkable acheivement with the squad we have. It's finally caught up with us. Some players are looking really tired but this was never a title winning squad. Maybe 1-2 Jan signings would've sealed it, maybe not.
FSG are trying to get into the CL on the cheap, and it looks like they've acheived their first objective. Now to use the cash well and get moving on the stadium.
What do you mean with the squad we've got, we have one of the top 3 strikers in the world, 1 of the most in-form strikers in the world, a squad full of internationals, the deadliest attacking partnerships in the league, etc. How exactly are we over-achieving. Players looking tired, give me a break. 1 competition, that's all we had to play in for the vast majority of the season, not to mention playing most of our games on Sundays, today is Monday, we've had longer than most to recover. Or perhaps it's the fact that Rodgers likes to play the same team every match and never rotates. How are FSG trying to do things on the cheap, we have one of the highest spends in the league, one of the most expensive squads in the league, since FSG bought the club, they have spent around £225 million in 3 1/2 seasons. They are crawling out of the woodwork tonight I think we are going to finish higher than that 6th position you forecast

mate if your happy with 2nd place then more power to you, but we may not even see that again for some time. gary neville may just be on the money, this was the prime time for liverpool to win it. united on their arse, chelsea finding their feet in maureens first season, and city unconvincing. it will be much harder next year.
It seems LFC managers get one shot at the title - Roy Evans - 95/96 Houllier - 01/02 Rafa - 08/09 Rodgers - 13/14? Before the wheels fall off and the following season ends in tears. Wouldn't surprise me if we really struggle next season with the added pressure of Europe. Man Utd are rumoured to have 200m to spend next season. Jose will more than likely have Courtois, Lukaku and Diego Costa on top of this team, Arsenal will buy a big player or 2, Man City will spend big, be interesting to see what Martinez does too.
