Just having Sturridge on the pitch creates space for others to operate in. I hope he gets fit asap. Something is not quite right with the front two, but now's not the time to change it round. We've just beaten Man City with them on the pitch for most of the game. Who do we play instead? Moses? Yesil? It's not like there are many appealing options to consider. I also worry that (the much previously maligned) Henderson's honest commitment, energy (and skill) will be a loss. Joe will need to step up. I'd say play same team every game now unless forced to change. Norwich will be a test that should be given no lesser priority than Chelsea.
One thing that gives me some confidence is the refusal of BR or SG to get ahead of themselves. I do think BR has grown into to the role this year. Sad that the Hull game makes the final run in so nail biting.

Its is a ridiculous postif he is out for a few games will be a massive loss. We need everyone now more than ever Didn't insinuate I think/want him out of the team, especially not for the run-in ... & I also said as much, guess you didn't understand that part. Quite obvious we need him, and another post made a great point, his presence does open space & worry defences, which very much matters. What is obvious though is he is out of touch & not playing well, especially for a few games on the trot now. Just wanted to discuss if maybe it's a blessing in disguise. Perhaps, perhaps not... anything can happen & he could score a hat trick next time, so.

My view of sturridge is rodgers should take him to one side. And explain to him that he doesn't need to score to help the team win, as long as he plays the way he has this season, the problem with studge is he tries his hardest to score, but when he doesnt score he gets frustrated and thats when he makes mistakes, as he tries even harder to score, and for those that say studge is being selfish, what was it shanks said to our strikers in the past, "you've got to be selfish to score", so I cant see it as a bad thing.

I agree on the "some" selfish point... a streak of selfishness & arrogance/confidence in a top striker is a necessary trait. But there is a line where it becomes detrimental, especially to a possession-oriented team that thrives on space, movement, & intricate passing. That said, +1 on your point: Rodgers needs to simply get it through his head he doesn't HAVE to score to be an effective cog in the team. Good point!
Like I says, I'm not bashing him & I like and rate him; glad we got him. Just pointing out myself something hasn't seemed right with SAS for a few games now & without the other S (Sterling) I think we'd have had a slip already. Which I'd hate to see happen now with everything so close to being brought home. 7th - 1st would be such a massive happening!

SAS rarely perform in big games so i wouldnt be writing sturry off yet. They are exactly the two players who will make shiit happen against norwich and palace in the run in. fck me i havent been this nervous since 2005.

Henderson's unnecessary lunge that cost us the red card was more infuriating than anything that Suarez and Sturridge had actually done in the game tbf.

True, but Allen should be good enough against Norwhich, if we cant win against Norwich with only 1 of our main 11 out, we dont deserve to win the league. What about against Chelsea and palace? Three game ban for our engine could be a problem.
