The easiest thing for a supporter is to wish that the best players in the world are playing in LFC, but the worst thing for a manager is the continues efforts to manage the squad's stability and their consistency.
LFC now have a good mixture of young and experienced players, but it still needs some improvements.
GoalKeepers:
We have a very good goalkeeper who I believe is world class, although some people might argue with that. the problem is that he doesn't have enough competition to keep his place. also, if he was suspended for any reason, we will be panicking because our backup GK's are no where near his quality. I believe we need to improve there
Defenders:
IF we can keep Agger (which seems to be impossible) then we will have enough cover for Centerbacks, we already have enough cover in LB with Aurelio, Dossena and Insua (although Dossena seems likely to be sold). Right Back is a problem because Arbeloa is a decent RB, but not the best. we need competition there.
Midfielders:
If we can keep Alonso, Mascherano in Liverpool forever, then we can add Lucas and Spearing as their backup players. although I would really want Lucas to either improve or to be replaced by Michael Johnson.
Wingers:
Riera is Decent and Kuyt too. Babel is having too many troubles on the pitch and with Rafa which would mean he will be sold soon. Benayoun is useful but is not THE winger that would solve our problems. it's either that Babel improves, or we need to replace him with the likes of Ribery or someone as good as him. the rest seem fine.
Strikers:
Gerrard, Torres and Ngog as backup look decent. we just need Ngog to mature more and our problem is solved. we also got Nemeth who might be added to the equation.
Conclusion:
on paper, we have a squad that could win the premier league. in reality, we're 2-3 players short.
the priorities are:
1. Winger.
2. Right Back.
3. Goalkeeper.
