Doubt it. I don't see him leaving the best team in the world, at-the-minute.
It is a wage ploy. As has been said, we are cutting player wages. There is no way that a player (no matter how highly rated) untested in English football would be put on 200k/pwk at Liverpool, at this moment in time.

They will have players on big wages but only after they prove themselves at the club
FSG want to maintain a self sustaining model and Kroos, unless they get him far cheaper than his true worth due to his contract situation, will not spend big on his wages imo.
I don't see where there were would be a backlash if we didn't sign him Prove himself? What? Kroos has already proven himself, or is Bayern bl00dy Munuch just not good enough for you? lol... If by some miracle LFC becomes his favoured destination FSG will be falling over themselves to pay Kroos his 150k per week. The reason I say miracle is because it would mean Bayern, Barca, Real, Chelsea and City will have all had to pass on Kroos before he thinks about LFC. The backlash is something the media will want to create, sadly. Agendas and what not. FSG won't want that, hence my original point. FSG won't let money be an issue when it comes to a player of this calibre. They just won't. Especially their first year in the CL. If I were Kroos, or any other top player, and I'm given the choice between LFC (with CL footie and playing alongside Luis Suarez) and MUFC (without CL an playing under Moyes), then its a no brainer really, is it? Unless they offer him double the wages we can afford. The United link just makes me laugh. Not even ridiculous wages could make that happen now. The last thing Kroos is going to do is join a sinking ship and play for a manager with absolutely no pedigree, or any real quality for that matter.

if we look at the silky wages Suarez is on, i cant understand why anyone would think FSG wouldnt stump up the money. FSG must understand that you can't run a CL club with a midtable budget. Next season, we need a much deeper squad and we have to pay higher wages to better footballers than we have now. I agree with you both. Suarez is already on CL wages. We NEED multiple CL players to come in if we are to stay at the top, and that requires a CL budget. We have been very lucky this year with both Suarez and Sturridge being on fire, which almost never happens at the top level.

FSG have a track record of reducing the wages and giving more incentive based contracts. I just can't see them offering more than other teams who will be in for him. Suarez was not on the contract he is on now when he first came. He earned the contracts by proving he could play in England and at Liverpool. Kroos is an excellent player and I have very little doubt he would succeed but that is not how FSG have worked in the past. We will be in for better players this season but I don't see us buying players who will command north of 100,000 a week.

I think JacOb is probably right. However i have to say, if we look at the silky wages Suarez is on, i cant understand why anyone would think FSG wouldnt stump up the money. Also, he could expect about 100k, not more, because Suarez really is twice the player Kroos is. I like Kroos but i wouldn't pay over the odds for him. If his wages are not astronomical then we may go for him but Suarez only received a massive pay rise after his performances in red. He was not on a 200k a week contract when he first came here

And I just don't see FSG letting money become an issue with players as good as Kroos who have Bundesliga and CL titles. He's already proven himself in that regard. These players rarely become available. FSG will know that and will be willing to match his 150k demands imo. You say you don't see us buying 100k players, but I would argue those are the only players that would improve our starting 11 which is absolutely necessary to stay in the CL. I know its unlikely and probably a wage ploy, but being optimistic, there is a universe where Chelsea, City, PSG, Barca and Real don't come in for Kroos because they have enough quality midfielders already. Bayern would also be unwilling to match his 150k demands because of the Lewandowski signing. If that can happen, LFC are essentially next in line. Fingers crossed.

Suarez wasn't on astronomical wages when he joined, but he also wasn't as established as Kroos is...

FSG or the committee do not appear to buy players on high wages Thats what has happened in the past and it fits in with their self sustaining policy. Getting CL may increase our max wage offer but until I see a change in that direction I'm going to work off their previous dealings
