Great post and think figures speak for themselves in terms of money actually spent. While there's been money spent normally it's sell a player to buy. It's hard to consider winning when you work in them parameters. Our overallplay this year has been hard to watch but we have played great stuff under Benitez and will again. While we've had no trophies, we've finished second and beaten in a Champions league final. That to me speaks volumes of how competitive Rafa can make us. This season should Not be a reflection of his body of work. Still believe in him.

Yeah, I agree, I would have liked to see Pacheco used as well, even though I haven't seen him play a lot to be honest. I don't think many fans have, yet they seem to believe he's ready.
Agree to disagree I suppose, I still don't think one poor season is enough to warrant calling for his head. Then Wenger wouldn't have lasted long at Arsenal and I would hate to see us switch managers as often as Chelsea.
Owners out, give Rafa a good season with nice backing and I'll be happy. If he fails then, even I might be wanting a change.
Trevlig helg! no one knows where the money went except the clowns in charge. they're the biggest problem at the club, no doubt about it. the situation will be the same if a new manager comes in end they're still here, the new manager will have to improvise on the transfer market. but i still believe there are managers around that would have done things differently and better than rafa has done this season. another question is why he isn't using any of the youth players? pacheco is more than ready.
i just think we need change. the lads needs a new voice in the dressing room. someone who can motivate them, something rafa has failed with lately. CLASH OF THE SWEDES

I agree with Emp. It doesn't matter whether he's had the backing from the board or how well he's done in the transfer market. You could be the best manager in the world but if you loose influencial players in the dressing room then it's clearly time to go.
no matter what he does now, things won't change as the players aren't playing for him.
With regard to him being a Master Tactitian, I think he became a victim of he's own success. Once he believed he was the all powerfull tactitian he started tincering too much.
Even with the players we have at the moment I feel with a manager in charge that prefers attacking football instead of the boring stuff we have to put up with now, we'll be much better off!
The following is based on actual events. Only the names, locations and events have been changed.

well for starters they have no idea if he will be here next season or not, so backing him makes no difference
both are playing week in, week out, which is a huge part of it for a pro - they want to play
and both actually like life at the club, reina in particular has really taken the club to his heart
oh and the money is great

I just think its time for a change. Rafa has run out of ideas and seems to have lost the players so its hard to see a way back. His signings have been quite bad generally but then he hasn't been backed fully for a while. If we had City's money then who knows what would happen. But we don't and Rafa doesn't seem to be ale to wheel and deal like some other managers.
And then ther is the way we play, which is awful most of the time. I would prefer us to go out and play well, attack the oposition and if we loose, well at least we had a go. In my simple world it doesn't matter how many your oposition score as long as you score more (not taking goal difference into account there).
