I was impressed by the tough mentality and discipline. Thats down to the manager.
Joe Allen gets my man-of-the-match vote. He was everywhere. making good runs, hungry for the ball, tackling, creating.
Coutinho was the worst. What has gone wrong with this lad? maybe some personal issues?
And Hendo's passing and finishing? good grief. Back to the training ground for him.

Everyone else can hold their heads high, including the travelling fans who sang the roof off the stadium. This was an away game right?

this was an immense win as Southampton are by no means "easy beats" and are a fine side indeed.

Let's see if we can't go on a 10 game winning streak from here wink

Yeah, we’ve suffered from these friendlies in the past, could really do without them this particular season. Anyway that was a real gutsy win, away to a very decent side.
Joe Allen is starting to look like a half decent player, and is putting himself about very well, he could be our ace in the hole for the run in...wouldn’t that be some turnaround?

Suarez man of the match for me and Gerrard not too far, Allen was probably the most improved.

Emphatic win away to one of the premiership better teams. I would have taken a point to begin with. Things are beginning to shape up nicely just when it matters most. YNWA.
