We spent 25 mil, a freebie, and a loan on our defence and it's worse than last year ! Maybe it's not the players but the system! or we fecking need some decent midfielders ?
how many games has our 1st choice back four played together?. its hard to say our defence is worse then last year because last year we didnt have as many injures
Don't think our defence was that much better last year when Skrtel even lost his place, we were better 2 seasons ago. Defence has been the weakness of BR overall.
The attack is much better though.
Gerrard offers more protection than Lucas I think as he is a bit more mobile. The goals we have conceded in the last few games have generally been errors rather than at the start of the season where we were giving up chances easier. With the exception of Toure, the defenders all look more comfortable playing the ball out and I think Gerrard is key to that as he is always an option and good on the ball.
